Actor & Voice Artist

Joan's voice has brought characters to life in English dubs for major studios and streamers in addition to podcasts and commercials. She brings sophistication, charm, humor and fearlessness to her work. On camera, she's had the pleasure to have worked with directors like Tim Burton, Cameron Crowe and others. The  one-woman show, she created, "Moscow at Midnight," was  theater pick of the week in Los Angeles and other cities where she toured. She speaks English, Italian, French, Spanish, a little Russian and has an ear for accents. 

Dubbing Director & Consultant

As a dubbing director, Joan has directed the English dubs for Netflix, Amazon. Disney + and HBO Max. Her work has been nominated twice for HERMES awards for Best Overall Dubbing by the Entertainment Globalization Association.

Her work has taken her all over the world and she has collaborated on projects for esteemed directors such as Steven Soderbergh (14 films), Ridley Scott, Ron Howard, Michael Bay and many more. She’s worked on the international versions of titles such as Kung Fu Panda and Madagascar and worked on franchises like The Bourne Trilogy, Transformers, The Mummy, and Mission Impossible. 

She served as Creative Director of Worldwide Localization and Distribution for Paramount Pictures for two years, where she was involved with all aspects of localization, from casting to creative consulting to dubbing supervision.

Background & Training

Joan grew up in a large Italian family, immersed in a world where laughter, storytelling and language played a central role. Raised in Canada, in a multi-cultural community of diverse linguistic backgrounds, she learned how stories are built around culture. 

She started writing and performing at a young age and pursued theater, film, and French literature at university before moving to Los Angeles where she studied with instructors such as Howard Fine, Aaron Speiser, and Michael V. Gazzo. Joan’s training also included time at New York's Circle In The Square Theatre School, with Alan Langdon. 

Professional Memberships

Joan is a member of SAG AFTRA, ACTRA, IATSE and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, where she volunteers on the International Film Committee.
